Paula Cortez

 

 

     Hello people of Earth who own computers, i'm Paula. First of all, let me start off by saying i'm a huge dork. And i'm rather clumsy.(which is probably why sports and I don't mix)

But other than that, my love for music is irreplaceable.

   I'm a born and raised San Antonian. I started singing when I was 6, as a way to boost my confidence. I ended up actually enjoying it. So my parents put me in private vocal lessons. From then on, I began singing at different events all around San Antonio. A couple years passed and I'd just turned 11 when I spent all my birthday money on my first guitar. My dad tought me the basics and I began watching tutorials online of how to play certain chords. From then on, I was hooked. I didn't want to sing with tracks anymore, I just used my guitar everywhere I went.

    So Spring of my 8th grade year, I decided to form a pop band (Paula Cortez Band), and we have been playing together ever since. Recently, we released our first EP "More Than Now", which we are very proud of. I'm very thankful I met those guys and get the chance to play music with them. 

    Aside from that, i've auditioned for NBC's, "The Voice", played the Rock n' Roll Marathon in San Fransico, CA in 2011, played at Tootsies Bar in Nashiville, TN in 2014, and was voted "Best Singer in San Antonio" by WOAI in 2012. The support given to me by both my parents and friends is something I hope I never take for granted. They have been the forefront of it all and I can't thank them enough for everything they have done for me.
